a much loved husband of vi a dad of dawn liz and wes the best grandad of ian gemma kelly and charlotte and i can happily say a great grandad of kadie and conor,my grandad was the nicest person in the world would do anything for anyone, he wasnt a man of many words he used to whistle aload and sing to his family just made up songs, i have got so many great memories with him and so have all his family. u name a place with water and he'll of took us there, every sunday without fail somewhere differnt. he is loved so much and will be missed evan more. about two years ago he had a bleed on the brain but he never gave up not until today. he lost most of his memory and struggled in everything he did but my grandma pressed on continuing to look after him at home but unfortunatly in the end he needed the hospital, he died with his family around him and is finaly at rest. people say that i shouldnt get upset because he isnt suffering anymore, yes i am greatful for that but how do you stop missing someone you love so much who was there everyday of your life making it better for you. my grandad was the best family man and man you ever meet.

It feels strange calling him mick, he was always known to me as Charlottes grandad. It was somtimes easy to forget he wasnt my grandad as he was such a kind and caring person, without saying much he made you feel so warm and welcome. I have so many memories of me and Charlotte going off for hours, walking for miles and on the way home we always made a stop at gramdmas and grandads..He would always be so concerned, telling us to be careful on the walk home, not to walk the dark way or over a field. And he would drop us off if we wanted to go anywhere in his little blue car. I will always think of him when i here someone whistleing. They were always jolly little tunes, he used to make people smile so effortlesly. He will be missed so much, he was a lovely, kind and caring man, he had a heart of gold. He will be taken very good care of and he will watch over us all.

I will miss you so much and you will always be in my thoughts. God bless xx

Granddad, you were just a lad,
So many years ago.
You had your loves and had your dreams,
You watched us come and go.

You watched us make the same mistakes,
That you had made before,
But that just made you hold us tight,
And love us all the more.

We haven’t always thought about
The things that you have seen.
To us you’ve just been ‘Granddad’,
No thought of who you’ve been.

But we remember now in love,
Your life from start to end,
And we’re just glad we knew you,
As ‘Granddad’, and as ‘friend’.

Hi,
One of my favourite poems is
I Did Not Die

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow;
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain;
I am the gentle Autumn’s rain.

When you awaken in the morning’s hush.
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there;
I did not die.

Perhaps his time seemes all too brief:
God wanted him now, he set him free.

You Will See Them Someday
© Stephan Banks
when you lose someone it can be hard to take
the pain that you feel when your heart has to break
the memories you keep are all in your mind
as you search your soul for more to find
the way their skin felt the smell of their hair
as you keep thinking over and shedding a tear
the years may pass, memories fade to grey
but your getting no younger you'll see them someday
unconditional love is never forgotten
look deep in your heart it is there at the bottom
alone in the dark sometimes in fear
voices from loved ones your hoping to hear
more years pass, they soon fly by
but your always looked upon from those in the sky
surrounded by clouds and pure white doves
they listen and watch sending you love
just remember one thing as you sit and you pray
they will be there to greet you, you will see them someday.
